The Laundry Chute...

is for LAUNDRY, right??? WRONG!!! This is one of my kids' FAVORITE places to play!!

Where's Colton?

There he is!

Where's Kyler?

HERE she is!

Pretty sure at this point, Colton was upstairs talking down the laundry chute to Kyler...

 Colton posing for a picture...

The only thing you don't see here is the pile of towels they pulled out so they could play in here...but you didn't want to see that anyway!

A Conversation with Kyler...

Kyler likes to talk...  A LOT.  Only problem is we can't quite understand her yet.  She's getting a few words here and there, but mostly, it sounds like this...

*If anyone knows what she's talking about, could you PLEASE let us know!!!

Randomness

So, I have seriously slacked off on the bloggin lately... We have been spending more time outside than in, and when we are inside, I always have one kid attached to my hip, and they are not very helpful yet with the computer, so... my apologies. I will try to do better! Anyway, here are some old/new pics! Enjoy!

Work Hard..Play Harder

This month, with the nicer weather, we have definitely been working a LOT!  The kids and I even made it to the field to take lunch to the guys one Saturday...

Nothing like lunch on the back of a pickup truck!

And of course, SOMEBODY wouldn't leave without a ride in the dozer...
Not sure who was more excited about this...   :)

Checking out the progress...

While Kyler hung out with Uncle Kevin

But we've also played a LOT this month too!
Jace has been over to play...

Aunt 'Issa' came over to play... (Sorry, Melissa, I just had to put it on here...)

We watched what we couldn't help with out the window...

Jace came back to play in our tent

And we played some MORE!!!

"And a good time was had by all..."

We had Kyler's birthday party Saturday night.  I was a little overly ambitious and decided to make enchiladas (one of Kyler's favorites) for dinner for everyone, AND make her cake!  YIKES!  Looking back now, it turned out fine, but in the middle of the day Saturday, I was seriously questioning my judgement.  Thank goodness Grandma Carol had volunteered to take the kids so I could get things ready!  Everything turned out great, and we all had a good time!

The cake...my first and possibly last!  :-)

When one wants to be held, they both need to be held.  Only problem with this is they are both getting HEAVY and SQUIRMY!

Colton wanted to pose for a picture while I was taking pictures of the cake

Kyler trying to play with fire while everyone sang her Happy Birthday!

Kyler was a little busy when we first started opening gifts...

Birthday Girl!

Playing with my shoebox on my new couch!

After all my hard work, Kyler was not at all interested in eating cake...Jace, however, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Mmmmm....

Colton, as usual, has a use for EVERYTHING!

Thanks everybody!

Just because I think it's fun...

to look back and see how much the kids change over time, and in honor of Kyler's 1st Birthday...

Kyler now weighs just a little over 20 lbs., walks EVERYWHERE, is into EVERYTHING, talks, even if it is her own little language, and LOVES playing with her toys, wrestling with her brother, and 'helping' Mommy...  What a year!  Can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Just when I think nobody reads this...

So, I'm still trying to get used to the fact that Kyler turned 1 yesterday (yeah, I know, I can't believe it either) and I get a text from Melissa and Jena telling me to update my blog.  SERIOUSLY????  Surely there is SOMETHING else to do in Manhattan on a Friday night...  :) OK girls.  I literally had 4 pictures on my camera, and they are not very good at all, but it will have to do till after the party tonight.

This is from back in February, when we celebrated Mom's birthday.  The grandkids were kind enough to help her blow out her candles!

Last weekend, Derek brought the skidloader home to do some yardwork.  Colton was SO excited!  He even took BOTH kids for a ride in it.  You can kinda see Kyler's pink coat on the right, but that's about as close as Derek would come to me once I had my camera out...  However, both kids LOVED their ride and Mom enjoyed some peace and quiet!  :)

P.S.  Melissa & Jena ~ Thanks for keeping up with us!  Hope you appreciate that this is a 5:30am post...  ;)  Hope you have fun today!
