"And a good time was had by all..."

We had Kyler's birthday party Saturday night.  I was a little overly ambitious and decided to make enchiladas (one of Kyler's favorites) for dinner for everyone, AND make her cake!  YIKES!  Looking back now, it turned out fine, but in the middle of the day Saturday, I was seriously questioning my judgement.  Thank goodness Grandma Carol had volunteered to take the kids so I could get things ready!  Everything turned out great, and we all had a good time!

When one wants to be held, they both need to be held.  Only problem with this is they are both getting HEAVY and SQUIRMY!

Just because I think it's fun...

to look back and see how much the kids change over time, and in honor of Kyler's 1st Birthday...

Kyler now weighs just a little over 20 lbs., walks EVERYWHERE, is into EVERYTHING, talks, even if it is her own little language, and LOVES playing with her toys, wrestling with her brother, and 'helping' Mommy...  What a year!  Can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Just when I think nobody reads this...

So, I'm still trying to get used to the fact that Kyler turned 1 yesterday (yeah, I know, I can't believe it either) and I get a text from Melissa and Jena telling me to update my blog.  SERIOUSLY????  Surely there is SOMETHING else to do in Manhattan on a Friday night...  :) OK girls.  I literally had 4 pictures on my camera, and they are not very good at all, but it will have to do till after the party tonight. 

This is from back in February, when we celebrated Mom's birthday.  The grandkids were kind enough to help her blow out her candles!

Last weekend, Derek brought the skidloader home to do some yardwork.  Colton was SO excited!  He even took BOTH kids for a ride in it.  You can kinda see Kyler's pink coat on the right, but that's about as close as Derek would come to me once I had my camera out...  However, both kids LOVED their ride and Mom enjoyed some peace and quiet!  :)

I think...

I might use my camera a little too much around here...  Colton has been ASKING me to take pictures of him and Kyler, and of course I say YES!  We got these ADORABLE Valentine's shirts from my cousin and tried to get a few good shots of them yesterday afternoon.  I definitely need an extra set of hands when I attempt these projects...especially on the stairs!  GEEZ what was I thinking???  Still got some cute pics!

In other news...Kyler decided she wanted to "help" with the laundry...aka climb in and out of my laundry basket on my folded clothes!  Oh well!  She had fun!

My kids are apparently going to be musically inclined (unlike their Dad)  :)  I was making dinner the other night and heard Colton "playing" and Derek yelled at me to come look, and I come in to find Kyler playing right along with Colton...STANDING ON A BOX!  I swear this child is part Monkey!

Fun in our Tent!

I actually got a snow day today...therefore had some free time to update the blog!  Here are some pics of the kids playing in their tent that Aunt Melissa and Aaron got Colton for Christmas.  They LOVE this thing!!!  Lately, Colton has had it flipped over so he can lay underneath it and "fix it" like Daddy does the trucks.  This kid thinks of EVERYTHING!
